You all know them, you all love them. If you don't have them you want them. If you don't know what I'm talking about, man do I have a deal for you!

ICON 58647

Condition: Good as Icon new. If you don't know what that means google "Is my Icon coilover leaking", "What is this strange fluid emanation from my Icons" or "Fuck yeah I got Iconed".

Price: Donation, every penny of this will go to the "I have Icons" fund. This is a non-profit benefiting those poor souls unfortunate enough to be inflicted with the suspension virus known as Icon. This organization helps those with Icon cope with this situation through the use of booze.

How do you know if you have Icon?

1. Did you buy Icons?
2. Did your coilovers start leaking before they were shipped to you?
3. Do your coilovers look like this?

Second person I know who has said they are ditching their Icons this week. Sad to see such a formerly good company have so many problems now.

@italynstylion Maybe he has some info to help cure your Iconities.

Yep. When you see Pablo tell him I blew another Icon. He has helped me out the last three times I have had to get them uninstalled so I can ship them for rebuild the same day. This last time they replaced the bushings on the UCAs...again Icon issues.

We need to talk those guys in to joining in on the fun here.

Yeah - @RichardB23 had his truck there more than his own garage for a while. Good shop though and they really wheel their own stuff so they know what they are doing.

I'll add this thread to my list of links to send to the Icon fanboys next time they get mad that I say Icon isn't the greatest thing in suspension.

Make sure you let them know that the coilover shown has been rebuilt 3 times in about 3 years. The first rebuild was in less than a year of the first time they shipped from Icon.

Theres no convincing them. If you tell them that it happened on a vehicle that sees wheeling they say "they've been abused and not maintained, of course they're going to fail". If you tell them that it happened on a mall crawler they say "well if they actually fucking used them, it wouldn't have happened". They're a special kind of stupied.

Yep and now their products are so inferior they don't even do rebuilds. They had so many coming in that they couldn't keep up.

I have never been a fan of companies that use their customer base as a means to do profitable R&D. These guys have been poop since the kid touching crap caused the transition to the new company

I remember all the Icon fanboys telling me my Kings were crap because their suspension was "made for" the Tacoma vs off the shelf stuff King had and retrofitted. Hindsight being 20/20 I am so glad I got the kings that I just replaced them - with better kings and will be selling off the old ones. Thinking I put 30k on them over 5-7 years with zero need for rebuilds and only started rusting int he past 1-2 years from sitting for 3 years.

I had a guy tell me that by putting Kings on my truck, I made it less reliable and that the only option for quality aftermarket suspension was Icon.

I laugh every time I see someone post in the group asking about suspension and everyone automatically tells them Icon. I make sure to let them know Icon is not the beat suspension, just the best at marketing to the Toyota crowd.

I should have listened to the voice in my head telling me to go with Toytec the first time rather than drowning it in bourbon. Still not going with Toytec This time.
