So was Santa (or Mrs Clause) good to everyone? She left me a Renogy 1000 watt pure sign wave inverter with a bluetooth adapter. Which is very convenient as I was going to install the 700 watt version that I already had. Now to use the popular phrase from a Chinese sweat shop that makes shoes and "Just Do It".

I tried to consider my new motorcycle a "Christmas present" but was told no. But I did get a new pair of Helm boots I have been wanting; the rest was okay too. The sammich maker did pretty good with a necklace / earring / bracelet set and earrings from Brighton. The in-law's got us a decent sized dehydrator also.

Fort Walton is beautiful. Home to the Air Force Special Forces base as well.

Been there many times when I was active duty. Now my older kids live just down the road, one in Pensacola and one in Gulf Breeze. You still could not pay me enough to live there. High humidity just makes me a bigger asshole than I already am.

I'm already used to the high humidity bc I live in Satan's Gooch of a city lol

Camping trip was cut short. The 8 year old Dometic fridge started acting up and then died, rear axle seal started puking oil, and the other little issues on top of those just killed the joy.

Yesterday I did help some other campers out; the 2018 Colorado sprung a leak at the top of the radiator (assumed). I have him a ride from La Mota 2 to Presidio then back to his camp. It was a long afternoon but it saved his ass. Oddly enough that camp site has great cell phone reception.

I saw this lifted Sienna at BBRSP this week. The owner is from Louisiana and said he had been a lot of places with it so far. It seemed setup pretty well and had a surprising amount of ground clearance.

I added a "smart switch" to my gas fireplace, there are times when it gets too hot and I'm too lazy to get off the couch to turn it off lol. Since the light switch that turns it on normally is a low voltage circuit I couldn't just install a smart light switch since it uses the 120V circuit to power up the brains of it and it needs a neutral wire.

My solution was to use a 120VAC relay wired to a Kasa smart outlet, the fireplace has auxiliary outlets below it for blower fan and other accessories so I just used one of them, and wired a relay coil to the smart outlet and put the Normally Open contacts in parallel with the manual light switch, so now I can turn it on/off from my phone in addition to the light switch on the side of the mantle.

The relay and appliance cord was under $15 on amazon and I already had a few extra Kasa plugs laying around.

We have a bunch of Kasa plugs, I had them all set up with some on schedules. Then I bought a new mesh network setup and they all didn't work (despite being the same SID and password). Since then I have not went back and redone everything.. been over a year. I'm lazy that way. lol

yeah when I set them up it kept trying to install it on the “home” app for the iPhone so I ended up manually entering network ID in for mine. As far as I can tell that home app is just another waste of time that’s supped to simplify by having all your smart devices on one app, but I’m not interested in using another apple app that probably doesn’t work anyway lol

Thinking about buying a new truck. Trading in the 250 on something.. maybe a new F150 Tremor. Maybe... big maybe. I'm still on the fence about doing it. But I did find one I like, its in Houston though. Its a dealer that has another dealership locally so they might be able to transfer it easy enough. If they were open today I would go talk to them.
