Just crazy. The whole situation is awful with the amount of lost and/or all those who all died. Residents in those areas were warned of historical rainfall/flooding about 2 days prior hurricane rain bands hitting Florida. There will be future storms and and as always, folks who choose to ignore the worst case scenarios.

I have a lot of coworkers in the impacted areas. Everything I am hearing goes back to the same mindset that the news/weather forecast is always doom-and-gloom while it never happens. This time they forecasted doom-and-gloom and it happened. I get it; how many times do we see the weather with worst case forecasts that never happen. This happens so much we are desensitized to the forecasts.

I hear ya, we have family in the area as well. The forecasts are usually worst-case scenarios, weather is predictable, but its not on the other hand.. A hurricane will most likely hit Florida again this week, many will stay and I'm sure Darwin awards will be given out again.

No clue. But the dude was an asshole for sure. Like did that assistant chief really think that pilot was going to leave his son/co-pilot on the side of a mountain for no reason?

And then they dragged that old man down the mountain as well when he could've just been flown out.

I would've gotten them both and dropped the old man off at that same location and flipped off that assistant-chief off with both hands as my copilot flew us away.
