Throw a rock through their back window. When they show up to replace it ask them about the fence.
They’re just an older couple who won’t answer the door for any reason. I’m going to swing by tomorrow and leave notes on both of their car windshields with my name, number, and why I’ve been ringing their door bell a few times a week for the last few months. I don’t even want money. I’ll gladly pay to replace the fence I just want them to let me clean up all their bullshit vines and hackberries that are destroying the fence before I put a new one up.

That's Mr Asshole to you
Goodluck killing those vines. Remedy or something along those lines is what you will need.

Go sniff around the door, they may be dead inside getting slowly devoured by cats (I assume they have cats lol)

So I bought a new dishwasher, it was to be installed on Saturday. Guys showed up to replace it. But the ball valve under the sink would not stop the water flow so they could replace it. They left the dishwasher in the garage and said once I got that valve replaced they would come replace it and haul the old one away (haul away was my main goal.. $25 for HD to haul away or I spend $36+ to do it). Anyhow I decided to take a look at the ball valve and do it myself. I ended up looking for my water shut off in the yard near the road. Appeared it was under a fucking bush that has grown sustainably over the years. I was trying to stick my head into the bush (don't all guys do that?), the bush was on my right side, I was sticking my head in there and I put my left hand down to get some leverage... a few moments later.. OUCH! I put it down dead center of a fire ant mound. That was yesterday, arm/hand was swollen and bumpy. Today its got the zit like wounds. I think I can count about 70 of them. Today I went out and stirred the mound with a boot and dumped Amdro on the assholes. Nothing can be simple/easy these days. Always a catch.

Shutoff valve was replaced today, new dishwasher was installed. Damn, this thing is fuggin' sweet! It says its the same DB as our last one (39db) but it seems quieter. Like you don't know its on quiet. Fucker better last.

In my previous marriage my BIL was a county sheriff.. was one for 30 years. He said he went to a house where someone had died many times. In one of them the person had died on the screened in back porch.... after about a week the body 'popped' in the summer heat and the juices ran down and flowed out from under the screen door.

Last week before the freeze I found a few spots with minimal insulation or compressed insulation in my attic. I bought a couple bags of cellulose insulation and fluffed it up with the "hand mixer" to add a bit of insulation to critical spots today. I will revisit adding 20 or 30 bags of insulation in March when I am home for more than hours a weekend. This will keep the brass fitting in the water lines covered at least during these freeze nights.

Make sure you wear a dust mask with that cellulose. It makes me cough like crazy. The Milwaukee dust masks with the gasket are the most comfortable ones I've ever warn. Doesn't even feel like you're wearing a mask. #stopthespread #getthejabandhavealifetimeofhealthissues

Finally got in touch with my neighbor behind me about the fence. She said they've lived there for 46 years and I'm the first person to ever offer to help maintain the fence. They've just neglected it the last few years. But they're going to clean up their side and I told them I'd have my guy come give a quote for replacing it with an 8' fence. Also going to have him quote replacing my 42" gate with a 48" or 60". My mower deck is like 40" at the widest point so I'd like to get a bigger gate.

Well as usual, this turned into a bigger project than anticipated. Pulling the old shelves out so I could put the new ones in. The wall they’re on is in terrible shape. So looks like I’m ripping all this drywall out and putting up new on this wall. Not a terrible thing because this is an interior wall so it will give me a chance to add sound insulation but I just wasn’t planning on doing it right now as the garage is pretty low on our list of renovations. But no sense in waiting until I have crap all over the walls to do it.

No turning back now. Turns out the wall is already insulated so that’s a plus. Need to determine if all the walls in the garage are. If they are, that will help make up my mind to insulate the garage door and add a mini split sooner rather than later.

Easy part done. Going to knock out the electrical tomorrow and hopefully go pick up the insulation and drywall as well. Decided to trash the existing insulation and replace with some higher r-value stuff. Get it hung throughout the week and then next weekend my BIL is going to come over and teach me taping and bedding. Also going to throw some blocking in there in the spots I know I’ll be anchoring shelves or hanging slat wall/gear track. Will probably add some in spots I expect to use in the future as well.

Are those studs 16” OC? Look awfully wide, maybe it’s just the camera angle. Nice work doing all new, then you know what’s behind the walls and have all the outlets where you need them to be at.
