HOAX DENIER
Have I said enough? Okay, J/K... but I live in the Communist Republic of California and have to deal with the F'd up CARB gas cans. Although I am tempted to just get old cans, I am afraid that I am going to be disappointed when some CA ranger or equivalent tells me that I can not enter their land - okay call me paranoid.
I currently have one of the Scepter (cheap red) cans like this:
Although I use a PVC butt joint to keep from having to push the can (and add another dent when the first one was created by this POS!). The nicest part of this mod is that it stays on even when I store it back in the can!
On top of that they have a cheap ass seal that broke within the first couple of months of owning this piece of crap.
Tonight I am getting ready for a 3 day trip to do the entire length of the Mojave Road with a group of 4Runner guys and think I have found a decent solution for the shitty gasket - I picked up 1 5/16 1/8 wall o-rings and used them instead.
:end rant:
Now for the right 'next move'. I'd like to get 2 of these Wedco cans for gas and 1 for water...
While on a Bill Burke trip, he highly recommended using a siphon for fueling and it's not a bad way to refuel and once again, doesn't dent the side of your truck!
Any thoughts?
