shackle flips

Come to think of it, welding that shit on has got to be easier then having to remove the rivits from the stock hanger

I bought a new air hammer today, damn that thing can cut some steel! Used it to replace Jasons LCA ball joints (TOTAL PITA BTW)... anyhow, used a grinder with cut off disc, band saw and an impact hammer to remove that seized bal joint. Impact Hammer impressed me though,it sliced through steel very easily. But for future reference, just pull your LCA and take the whole thing to have the ball joint pressed out and then back in. Its MUCH easier.
But my point is that I bet an impact hammer can hook up a rivit.

I was just about to send you the link to the shed and then I saw that you had posted in it. LOL :)

Never did... It was moved from the BS thread... AlienXtx just gave me a link. Thanks for looking out for me! :)

the creepy joints would have to be made off the frame with some sort of bracket because the shackle is on the outside of the frame

So on the subject of the shackle flips, anyone else get excessive rear body roll with theirs? I feel like I need a rear sway bar with mine. Maybe just leaf combo I’m running?

Yea it rolls pretty bad, but not so much I concern my self with it. It's just enough to remind me that it's not a sports car so don't drive it like one.

Yeah, before I put on the shackle flip I was perfectly comfortable driving to meets with the front sway bar removed. After not so much.

Stiffer valved shocks and better springs will help a ton.

I'm an ex-Sammy rider, so I don't treat any 4x like a sports car...

That said, I did notice a bit more roll with the shackle flip

Yeah... had 2 of them... a tin-top with 31s that I unsuccessfully tried to fit into a UPS truck just before my freshman year in college &
a rag top that ultimately got SPOA'd/locked & ran up to 35s, though 33's worked best up in the Arizona mountains

Where did you go to school? ASU or some other school? I hear there are a couple of other schools there but I don't remember. :)

Uncle Sam sent me to live on Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson...

So yeah, I have pretty good knowledge of those trails I suggested to you :)

I just saw one of the upstart companies on TW started selling shackle flips. I can't remember who though. It was like Relentless or or one of those type guys.
