I have the Inline Performance quick change press mount on top of the bench as well. Overall I think everything is at the right height.

Good to know, since we’re similar in height, having the height right on the press makes a huge difference over time/repetitive motion

I got a tip from a friend that these little boxes for storing ammo are worth every dime. So I gave them a try and have to agree. These hold 30 rounds of 5.56 size rounds. I used my Brother label printer to make the labels.

It’s not uncommon for a serious reloader to use a cheese cloth or similar cloth on finished rounds prior to boxing/storage.

edit: for 1 its $1.20 cheaper to my address than Amadong price, even much cheaper per bundle if ordered 2 or more($33.58 each),

I left items in cart to see if they send discount code.

I wear gloves when I load my mags....

My body chemistry is like Iraqveteran8888 in that anything I touch gets corroded with my bodies oils foreva it seems. My prints literally get etched into brass and makes steel rust :BangHead:

Gotta clean any rod I touch after I fish

I finally decided to purchase the Hornady Reloading App. It gives me all the 10th edition data and access to the early 11th edition. Once the 11th edition is printed I should get it mailed to me automatically. Not bad for $20.

My goal is to get some range time in this month. I have a couple optics that need to be setup and zeroed and just need some trigger therapy.

I need to do the same. May be getting a 6.5-06 to tinker with.
Speaking of reloading, I am about to go that now.

I did some more digging and found another tweak for my Ladder testing process. The idea was to find the fps flat spot and then play with seating depth to tune it. The guy did not care about the POI as much as the chrono numbers.

That said - rounds that are less than 10-15 fps different will most likey already group tightly.

This is a better/cleaner reading version of what I have been studying into reloading ladder tests lately. The idea is to find "flat spots" in the powder charge-to-fps increase to find where the load is less sensitive to charge variations to get the most constant MV ES and SD. Single digit ES and SD will give the best recipe at any distance.

Loaded up some rounds for my friends 25-06. Tried 3 different powders out today with 110 grain Hornady eld-x bullets. Found a winning combination with 47 grains of IMR 4831. Book calls for 2996fps so while its fast it is about 4 grains of powder below max. Accuracy over speed. Not bad for a 40+ year old Ruger.

Did you try a group seating it 10 thousand closer to the lands?
My friend likes this group and doesn't want to mess with anything else. So loading up the rest in time for hunting season. Only thing after that will be adjusting the scope but really just need to go 1 inch right since the elevation should be dead on at 200.

Hope there was more testing than a three shot group. That is not much of data sample. If it is going to be a hunting load he might as well zero off cold bore.

That was the first group he shot so it was from cold bore. Let the barrel cool between groups.

Finally have an easy to transport reloading setup for home or range. Now I can do some real marathon range days between running initial ladder tests to trying different powders back to back on the same day/ same conditions. This is just going to cost me more money on powder and bullets. lol When not being used portable I can remove 4 bolts and move the reloading setup back to the bench for knocking out a bunch of ammo.

The portable range setup worked out pretty good. I did manage to do some testing work on the 300 Win Mag but ended up pushing it over 3000 fps and opening the group up some. The 6.5 Grendel did finally show some promise. I shot up all my Hornady ammo and a box of Federal to get it grouping decently. I had to do a rapid fire string as the range was getting ready to close; but it finally shows promise.

Really liking using ARComp powder with 123gr bullets in my 6.5 Grendel. Next up will be using 8208 for some 100gr screamers.

But today the bullets and rifle worked together well for me. There were a couple other groups that were all under an inch in size scattered across the different areas of the target. So I decided to see what I could do if I slowed down for a good group.

Overall Size - .645 " (used the cardboard from behind the target paper)
Caliber - .264"
Group CtC - .381"

Top part has three impacts. One of the lower shots was the first shot with a rested bore. The other lower shot was a bit of a pull; either way plenty to be happy with this group after the rocky start I had with this rifle.

And some load data since this is the reloading area...
