They already lock together, just have a gap right now because the front play needs to be shortened a little. We had talked about doing what you said about protecting the bolts. Same needs to be done for the gas tank skid ( ran out of time, and didn't get it mounted)

A flat one piece is the only way to get rid of the ridge in the second skid? Could still do the mounting point in the middle and just have spacers between the skid and lower crossmember kinda like I had to do, that would get rid of the ridge, make it one piece and still have an extra tie in point.
