Speaking of house work, I got a few bags of leafs together today.

Now that I live in a development leaves are a total PITA. Miss the days of growing up in the woods ~ Used to just tow them into the woods on a tarp with my quad.

I bagged my first two cleanings. Got lazy and tarped them to the curb the other day for the third cleaning. Of course we had super high winds all day yesterday so half the pile is back from where I got them from and now I need cleaning #4 lol

I just put on my DIY mulching kit on the ZTR and mow/mulch them up.

Our living room 65” plasma tv has been loosing its picture, and it’s getting worse, the SOB weighs like 140lbs.

I think it’s time to upgrade it, with all the sales going on, probably gonna replace it with a basic Samsung 65”.

Going on base to pick it up, no tax, $449 out the door price.

Old Tv, the motion rate on this plasma was 600hz IIRC, I only see 240 on the higher end TV’s, but the technology/light/led has changed so it probably not comparable anymore.

yeah man, be prepared for sticker shock! My wife did the same... even went to the Container Store and had them "build one out" and it was like $5500 not installed. We ended up hiring some local contractor to do a built-in for us. I should have just done it myself but the wife was arguing about what it needed to have. Laws of physics didn't need to apply in the closet.. she didn't like it when I told her that "X" would not work, but when the contractor told her the same it was cool. So fuck it, have him do it.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. However, I still said no. Not paying that much for something I can build. The downside is that now I need to actually build it....

Even better, they have $60 off coupons for $400 or more, celebrating Veterans Day.

$389 OTD!

Speaking of appliances, looks like I'm in the market for an oven and microwave combo. The Whirlpool unit we have is the second unit and has had all the parts replaced. Problems started appearing again, so Whirlpool is buying it back. They don't have any other units in stock to choose from.

I'm leaning heavily toward an LG unit that is on sale right now.

Ok, I ordered the LG. I hope I don't regert it.

Has convection in the microwave, has wifi, over $1k off, and has double the warranty of any of the other units. Bought it on Amex, so I should get the additional year warranty beyond what the mfg covers.

Decided to upgrade my old cheap desk with an adjustable workbench from Home Depot. I plan to make a few small additions to it but it will be a really nice replacement for my current old setup. Hopefully it arrives this weekend so I can get everything swapped out without having try to to too much of it at night.

Good luck with it

Thanks. It would be hard for it to be as bad as the Whirlpool that it is replacing. But, it is still being delivered in 2020, so who knows what could happen.

After placing the order, I read the fine print on the extra year of warranty promotion. Has to be registered within 30 days of purchase. It won't even be delivered until roughly 45 days after purchase. So I have an email in to LG to see what needs to be done. Otherwise, I might be back looking at other appliances as the month progresses.

After my wife got the quote for some built in shelves in the upstairs living area and the garage, I showed her some of the stuff that HD is offering. I'm pretty sure that I can upgrade my garage setup as long as I spend less than the custom built shelving people.

Is there a visual purpose for the LED backlights or just because?

Shows when someone has terrible cable management, wrinkly walls, and a bunch of crap on their TV stand.:flaming:

That is part of my master plan - get my desk and office setup cheaper than expected so I can roll the savings forward to other projects. And I was really trying to ignore those cables. One of the people I report to at work joked about sending me to a site soon as the covid restrictions are lifted. I asked him what needed to be done; he just laughed and said I would see it soon as I open the server room door. He recommended I take a couple extra rolls of velcro though.

I like those LED lights on the back of the TV.. I think I will get a set for the media room. I was watching Guardians of the Galaxy this weekend and thought some ambient light would be nice. I also need some better DVD storage. I'm beyond maxed out and that is not all of them.
