LOL, I just PM'd you.. thanks Rob. 4.10 stock 3rd should be pretty easy to find. $637 for repair from the local shop. OUCH!

IF thats including gears its 'reasonable'. That was with a 10 year warranty right.

195 for the g2 ring & pinion (10yr warr..) 205 for the rebuild kit, two hours of labor (bench time) @ 90hr per.. tax etc..

You don't need the master rebuild, All you need is a pinion install kit, carrier bearings and ring gear bolts should both be reusable. And you should be able to pick up the gears for 100 or less used. Thats gonna immediately lop off 200 bucks, labor is labor but that install isn't very hard to do since you're keeping the same ratio pinion depth is already set just use the factory shim pack and you will be bang on with the pinion depth and setting the backlash is easy to do if you've got some marking compound.

Oh I thought you were joking about the 10 year warranty, yea I'd go ahead and go that route then in 10 years of wheeling it will surely break again at which point it has paid for it self.

Scored a used third member 4.10 on T4R for $100.00.. Guy says it was recently rebuilt when he bought the runner. Need to put the Lockright in it and I am good to go!

FYI, Not sure if you have plans to ship it, but if you take two 5 gallon buckets and cut a hole one of them the size of the pinion. Then screw the bucket with the hole inside the other bucket you can stand the 3rd member on its nose. Wrap it in some packing material and screw on the top. Its how ECGS ships em. Cheap and protects the 3rd.

Good one -I have even taken a regular bucket and formed the top using a heat gun. Works nicely and you even give the UPS man a nice handle!
