I have refrained from posting in here but listen to the advice given. It is good advice from people that are knowledgeable and have plenty of experience with this sort of thing.

You want an Eaton Truetrac... its a limited slip that's very streetable.. good off-road. Not the best off-road but it works very very well. Off-road if one tire is off the ground there is the possibility that it may spin the tire in the air and not the tire that has traction. I had one in my old 4Runner and it acted like a locker off-road in 80% of the situations. It was a very good streetable solution.

I own a bone stock 81 Yota and I used to own an 82 Yota.. neither one came from the factory with a positive traction. You are confusing "posi" with limited slip. Do a little reading in the links above.
