I meant flex. Your rear bumper, on the other hand, looked a little bent.

yeah I did put a very small dent in the top of it.. not bad. Considering I backed it into a wall multiple times. :)

I did read that Marlin recommends a small weld between the bumper support and the frame to prevent flexing. I need to do it.

You would be wrong... AllPro sells alot of that shit. Maybe they use recycled beer tabs as well :)

You might be onto something Sean, wonder what they would pay me to save beer tabs? I just might get rich off of this.....

Well its just that you can't get a lot of damage when you are worried about the ArmorAll on your tires and how cool your 18's look. :)

they would be perfect for mall crawling because they would be just for looks, plus if you left them unpainted they would shine up like Crome and the light weight would save on gas for those long trips to and from the Gap...lol

"Long trips to and from the Gap".. LMAO! I about spit on my monitor.

I'm about to spend some cash on Clyde. Looking at Addicted Offroads new bumper http://www.addictedoffroad.com/bumpers.html and Marlins High Steer kit. Just need to get a few more beers in me so I don't feel back about dropping that much cash. LOL

So did you get the IFS box figured out? More specifically what the hell are you doing about the steering shaft? I'm trying to figure out how to modify an IFS steering shaft so that I don't have to buy 300 in borgeson steering joints.

I think I did.. what I've been told (don't know yet) is that the IFS box will hook up to my factory shaft with little to no mods. Once the High Steer kit comes in then I'll pull the old box and see what I can do. This weekend I plan to do my big brake upgrade (provided I get the time). But I have everything to do it. I think I can even reuse the old calipers and do a disk brake conversion in the rear with them.

Frack me..
How are the front brakes on the 1st gens? I am not crazy about the brakes I have now, all the guys on the 3rd gen string say to replace the caliper with the Tundra Caliper... Later, much later.. lift and sliders first. :D

Damn, that really dosn't help me any, I've got to add another joint some how in order to go around the new shock tower.

This is what I want to do with my 4Runner.. Lift, Sliders, Bumper, and tire size.. opinions?

I'm a big fan of that look.. but it all depends on where you want to go with it. As that sits its very capable, but still too nice to try the really hard shit. :) And for the record, that IS the nicest bumper for that style Runner. I personally would do a wrap-around rear bumper as well. Then look into stuffing 35's under it. Although those might be 35's.. probably smaller though, like 33.5-34s.

Well mine kinda suck because they are sticking on the passenger side. But I can upgrade them pretty easy. Rob hooked me up with a set of V6 IFS calipers (bigger) and I got a set of FJ60 rotors (vented and thicker) and I picked up an FJ80 master cylinder from Marlin Crawler. So once its installed it should stop great. But I did find out that I can use a Chevy 3/4 - 1 ton master cylinder with a Sky Mfg adapter and it would be even better. Check out Sky Offroad for the adapter, if it works for your Runner then it will help stop it on a dime.
