All this came up because I had a buddy at work today tell me he has a brand new Super Swamper SSR that I can have. He just wants it gone. So, I'm probably going to run 33x12.5x15s.

I would just recommend keeping the tools needed to tighten the spacers in the truck at all times.

We had a guy wheeling with us 2 weeks ago who had one come loose. He didn't have the proper tools to tighten or remove the spacer with him and no one else had a shallow socket. Big fail on his part.

Good advice. I keep my torque wrench and sockets in my truck since I installed mine.

Making a mental note.... don't be the jackass that can't tighten go because of a loose tire.

Ive had spidertrax front and rear for like 2 years. I wheel it hard and have never had a problem. Like any moving part, proper installation is important.

The only problem ive had is whatvwas mentioned earlier. The local discount tire wont touch them. I had to take my wheels off and bring them in loose to get my tires installed.

So - to continue this cluster F along - wheel spacers are ok. I'm going to need to run a hub centric spacer on the back axle and lug centric spacer on the front. Correct? Or just run lug centric spacers on all four corners.

I have the chinese lug centric spacers I snagged for temporary use. Good old tor forum hand me downs. They work great. I have wheeled on them and daily driven. My tacoma has not been out of the garage in weeks. Be aware that the tacoma spider tracks wont fit your rig!

As said above a properly installed/torqued wheel spacer should work well for you. I run a set of 1.5" spacers from Marlin. They have worked well and have not loosened up any.

However, everything does have its weaknesses. I saw it happen first hand. Alex had a little bad luck at Jambo this past year. A proper BS'ed whell is still your best bet in the long run. With the luck I have had with wheels and tires I plan to eliminate the spacers in the future to decreas any extra leverage on the front hubs.
