1st gen tundra ain't up to the task, all total it's about 8500-9000lbs to tow and the tundra just isn't up to that task

I've towed at least 7k # with the first gen and it was fine (my bosses truck). I love how quick that V8 is.

Pretty sure 1st gen Tundra only has a tow capacity of like 6500-7200 pounds.

Same exact tranny as the 4.0's 2nd gen so sounds about right.

same here.. there is an orange 67 Chevy pickup down further yet... its got a shitty 307 in it. Good candidate for an LSX swap. :)

Sold one before the move, didn't know what my future garage space was going to be...but I kept one, but if I ever find a good rolling 4wd frame & suspension for a 67-72 SWB truck, I'll consider restoring the one I have. The front clip and cab would need same like year model frame or major fab is required for a late 70, 80's truck frames

My FIL has a 65 Stepside C10. He just had about $21k in work done to it including paint.. but its not done yet. Interior and wheels/tires yet.
