I shot at a skeet event yesterday afternoon with a financial analyst who researches gun companies to buy for a living. So I talked his ear off about it but the main takeaways is that the majority gun companies have excess product right now that isn't moving so they're not doing well. Also, Mossberg will most likely go out of business by the end of next year and Remington will go out of business by the end of this year (if not sooner).

The majority of Mossberg's stuff is made in mexico so if you want one of their products, get it now before the 25% tariff goes into effect.

Remington has gone downhill last 5+ years. I'd like to get my hands on an older 1100 or 1187, those seem to be going up in value and would like to add to my collection. Don't own any Remington guns that I can remember, though maybe one feel behind the night stand lol

I am surprised Remington has stumbled this long. There are so many other better rifles at the price points that do not require a gunsmith to upgrade. Once I started messing with Tikkas I never looked back at Remmi.

I highly recommend you get a Versamax. It's the softest shooting shotgun on the market and the most slept on shotgun. My buddy has a ported and tuned 1100 that still doesn't shoot as soft as my Versamax. I also have my step-dad's 1187 and I don't shoot it as I prefer the soft recoil of the Versamax.

I let that gun finance guy and another guy shoot my Versamax yesterday and they said they've never shot a shotgun with that soft of a recoil impulse. The finance guy is buying a Versamax online because he liked it so much.

It was a private match I shot yesterday (meaning we could do whatever we wanted on the skeet course) and I shot at least ~150+ shells and I don't feel it at all in my shoulder.

Nice, I see they were discontinued in 2020, I’ll have to see if I can find one locally or maybe check out gun broker. Any particular model or feature I should keep my eyes out for?

Just get what barrel length you want. I have a 28".

They also share like an enormous amount of parts with a Benelli super eagle as well.

FRT is in the mail. Picked up this guy for $250. I'm not really a fan of FRT triggers in other stuff but the firing rate of ~1300/min is too awesome to pass up.
The Holosun 507k cost more than the pistol 😂

I like how you think there will be aiming and accuracy. LOL

That's Mr Asshole to you
After having some issues with rifle grouping, I came to the conclusion my scope was the culprit after being on 2 rifles. I called Vortex and sent it to them. They confirmed POA was off and could not fix so they sent me a new one. Got it mounted today and looking to get it sighted in so its ready for deer season. I got a freezer to fill.

Well the red dot screws stripped out on my slide so off to Taurus it goes to get fixed (Yes I used an inch pound torque wrench to install the red dot and it still stripped out). Sucks.

@Boomtacoma01 and I stopped by an outdoor range up near Crosby on the way back from a round of golf yesterday.
My tucked blackout issues are fixed with the addition of a Sprinco yellow spring and it runs well on dedicated .300 mags, iffy on regular AR mags.

His MAC 2011 shoots very well, but needs some changes. He'll fill you in on that.

...and everyone at the next set of bays seemed to have FRTs. Sounded like war over there, so I felt left out and ordered an Arizona Regulator yesterday.

In cheap-to-shoot calibers a FRT is fun. In "battle calibers" they are expensive. Long live the MP5 clne with a FRT.
Waiting for the 3-position Vector FRT to become available. The wait list was full before I found out about it, so it may be a while

Picked up a little something something today. Not sure I like the optic. I could have saved $180 and got it without but I decided to give it a chance. Worse case I wasted $180.. would not be the first time. lol But I really like the way the gun feels in my hand. Hope to hit the range on Saturday and see how it shoots.
