Kayak Fishing

Very cool Rich! I haven't done much kayaking in my life but the little I have always let me know the next day that I hadn't done it before. Sore as hell! That looks like a great trip and well worth the pain though.

Ill be out at SLP on Aug 23d with a crew from TW. won't be fishing, but you should come on out and hang.
Had to cancel reservations at Jamaica Beach because Taylor High School is doing their "Burger Bash" and apparently it is a must attend for us. Are you there Sunday too?

Kelli and I will probably crash down there Friday night and fish overnight. No yaks...

My 9' kayak I had for 15+ years flew off the back of Ant's Tacoma last year as we were driving back to camp on a fire road (I was hammered/not driving). We retraced our steps perfectly but by the time we got back someone must have grabbed it off the side of the trail and high tailed it out. Searched lost and found at the Ranger station and local kayak outfitters with no luck. Guess Ill report the serial number as stolen and "hope" it turns up (no ones ever checked my vin in almost 20 years of kayaking).

Now I'm trying to find a 10' or shorter model that's camo and no more than 50#. Sadly I'm unable to find anything I like. Everything that's camo is set up for anglers and is tardily heavy or has a horrible hull design. Hard to find something cheap/durable/good tracking and can support a 350# max payload.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Nope, but after taking an angler kayak out with raised seat I'll never go back...

My brother "lost" a kayak during the flood in Ike. My brother moved back to that neighborhood a few months ago and found it hanging out in a neighbor's yard. He was able to get it back by describing all of the fiberglass fixes/patches to the owner lol
