So I threw a spark plug a while back and thought my engine was DONE. Bought a new car I had my eye on the next day and the 4runner has just sat in the driveway. I've been crazy busy with the family; I have 3 kids now 8,5, and 3 ~ALL GIRLS BECAUSE GOD HAS A REAL SENSE OF HUMOR~
Life went on...
Last week a girl on her phone decided it would be fun to just pull out if front of my wife and I so my pristine Ford Expedition EL was TOTALED (Luckily no one was hurt and none of our kids were in the car).
So now I'm working on bringing the 4runner back to life.
Turns out the spark plug just backed itself out do to my leaky valve cover gasket (how fuckin lucky am I!?!)
So I've replaced:
-valve cover gaskets
-spark plugs seals
-cam covers & half moon plugs
-spark plugs and wires
-PCV Valve and Grommet
-Air filter, oil change, etc
-new battery
and I'm in the process of replacing:
-new belts (and some vacuum hoses)
-CS144 alternator upgrade
-replacing old air intake tubing
Ordered:
- Rock sliders (my 5 year old said she needed "steps" to get in/out for school)
Its running like shit but I'm hoping its just bad gas so I've been letting it idle to work through the old gas then I'll replace the fuel filter and run injector cleaner.
I'm going through my old parts bins and I have a bunch of parts that I never installed (ditch brackets, lights, back up camera, etc) that will go on once its actually drivable again. I also think I'll "need" to replace the exhaust because its old and starting to rust out.
