in hindsight should of also let Sandy take it back in 2012. The engine started sounding funny that Thursday and that Sunday I was driving to high ground saving it from flooding

I didn't do that the second night.... nothing like sitting in a truck as hurricane winds are shaking it as you watch the tide come up around you and all land disappear lol

still undecided on what to do with parts or the truck once it is running. Few people had dibs on some stuff going back years... I didn't forget, yet would not hold anyone to anything years later.

Got brand new TC LCA's, TC UCA's, King 2.0 remote ext trvl w/adj valves, two Spods, bulk stock of oil filters, bulk stock of air filters, ol parts engine, etc....

just buy another used tacoma, unmolested and start your build over with all those parts.

one that has a new frame.... hmm now you got me thinking.

Trade it in but keep it for a couple days, swap parts, drop off my old turd. That's how I got my ECGS/ARB locked third. Buddy was trading in his truck so we swapped thirds...

It's not like buying a new one would be an upgrade.....they have a crappier engine & more electronics I don't want

Just looked up local sales and they are selling for 12-16k for my year with 4x4 and most have 2x the mileage mine does.

I have brand new full suspension for the front/rear, + rear locker, skidz/bumpers so none of that stuffs really needed.

Only thing I never got that I wanted was a front locker or LSD. Little guys open up front

I'd just buy a stock truck used by some grocery getter, swap parts, then sell my old truck as stock.

I love the Kenwood headunits I have put in the Taco, all use Garmin as the nav. So simple and it just works.

I love my Garmins. Have one mounted to the dash in the Subaru. Why spend 2k in options for some crappy Subaru GPS/crappy OE double din radio when for $75-100 you can get a good portable Garmin that has free lifetime updates

I did put a nice Kenwood/Garmin double din dvd player in the Taco right before she blew.

Never been a fan of any other brands GPS.

Toyota/Lexus GPS sucks anyway. My sisters in her Sequoya is a complete joke ~ Think they want hundreds to update it lol

Just by definition Toyota GPS would suck. They strive to have zero recalls. Putting the latest and greatest in a automobile is a recipe for disaster! How do I know? I've owned three 7 series! lol

Friday the 13th I took a trail ride in my buddy's new grand Cherokee. I tried to talk him out of it (too nice of a truck to take in muddy fire trails) but both of us have covid cabin fever. His GPS was horrible. Prior to leaving his house I asked if I should grab my Garmin that has every special location Ive found over 20 years pinned. He said nah and that his GPS was brand new/great. We ended up making a huge circle that cost us an hr and sent us down a quad trail lol Not that it really mattered - we had no place to be and no agenda but spotting some animals, but in an emergency it would of sucked. That said Ill never leave it in my car again.

Just dropped $40 to upgrade the one in the Ford, but I've honestly never used it to know if its worth a shit. I use Android car, and run Waze or Google for gps.

Das Purge has begun. Reached out to a few people to see if they wanted anything so I didn't feel bad throwing stuff away and tomorrows trash day. gave them two weeks. crickets..... Scrap is so low not even going to bother saving the steel and Ill just put it at the curb early tomorrow so the scrappers can come get it before the trash men.

Not sure who needs 8 hub caps or an entire large zip lock bag full of lugnutz but not this guy anymore. I just threw away two perfectly good sets of Subaru floor mats still in the bags....car came with carpet and all weather mats and I put in aftermarket.

feels good getting rid of old crap. not so much thinking of all the time and money wasted acquiring it + the resources...

Still not sure what if anything I'm getting rid of until I get the truck running but here's a few things for example I'm not chucking and more than likely will sell off over winter/before spring.

Everything for a 2008 Tacoma Access cab. As I come across crap & make decisions Ill keep it updated, but if you see something you want let me know. Going to take some time for some things that are still on the truck thus the spring/winter timeline. Also the shocks aren't rebuilt yet - gotta send them out but going to prior to selling them so it may offer an option to have them set up specifically for your needs.

*Original ATO: (2) Flush bed bars for OE cleat system. Brand new/never used.

*Hayden: Brand new fan clutch

*SPOD: New/sitting for years/never installed - someone might have dibs

*SPOD w/bluetooth: New/sitting for years/never installed

*(5) Sport Wheels w/Duratracs & TMPS reporters

*TC UCA's - someone may have dibs

*White front bumper skin

*OE front Aluminum bumper

*rear seat panel

*rear seatbelts

*rear under seat storage bin
