My youngest and I had the FluOvid that's going around the past 5 days. Sucks.
Well finally got over that junk only to turn around and get a bad sinus infection where I could barely breathe. If I laid at a certain angle on my couch with pillow support, junk would drain and I could kinda Darth Vader breath for the past few days. Ended up getting on some strong antibiotics as well.

Fucking school germs man. Sucks.

I need recommendations on places to get my Kings rebuilt. If the shop can be within DFW or Austin areas that is preferred. A couple web searches did find this place; anyone have experience with them?

Fuck... damn near buy new ones for that price!

I don't have any suggestions but I should be looking.

Probably true... I have not priced new ones. I just know what I paid for mine.

The price and wait time for new ones is a bit crazy now. The current plan is to get the suspension rebuilt and do the regular LBJ maintenance all at the same time.

I send mine to Down South Motorsports in Cali only because they are certified to work on my specific Icon shocks. It's around $2k for me plus shipping for six of my shocks back in 2020 (I have no idea nor do I want to know, what it would cost to rebuild them now). Thankfully I don't drive the truck anymore so it'll be awhile before I have to send them in again (if I don't decide to go the Bilstein 8100 route instead of the Icons).

But I would think it'd be cheaper to rebuild your Kings because they don't have the specialized valving like mine do. But it's also dependent on how bad or good of a condition your shocks are in.

Well we picked up a 2023 Mazda CX-50 for the sammich maker today. It was a good deal with 14k miles on it. I did get the extended warranty so that I do not have to do any repairs for the next 75k miles. That was one of the key reasons to get her into a more worry-free situation while I am traveling than the 2006 Tacoma with 375k miles on it.

The Tacoma will be my driver for a few months while I get the 4Runner back into proper condition. Then I will see how much I can sell it for. After the Tacoma is gone I may have to install a turbo on the CX-50 as "regular maintenance at this mileage".
