Going to fill up my truck and all my gas cans tonight just in case.

I need to do the same.. mainly because they are all below 1/2 tank. Might grab another 5 gallons of the non-ethanol stuff for the genny. Just in case!!

I spent a little time today -
1) Filled up the 4Runner
2) Filled up two 5 gallon cans for the generator
3) Collected two long extension cords and surge protectors for generator
4) Filled a tote with small dry wood for the rocket stove
5) Picked up 3 bags of beef jerky from the butcher shop

I have the Bergs extended range fuel tank for my small genny, it holds 6 gallons and will allow the genny to run for days. I think getting fuel for the vehicles and filling up a jerry can would be smart... and picking up some more bourbon.

Both vehicles are full and I had a 1/2 cord of wood delivered tonight. Just need to top off my non-ethanol gas cans for the generator and then actually get it running on Friday. I fell out of my routine of starting it every month around April and it hasn't been started since. Also made a grocery run and stocked up on beer and wine. And jugs of water in case something happens and we need them to flush toilets. Should be all ready to not leave the house for a couple days unless we have to go take care of my MIL.

Got ~30 gallons of premium gas yesterday just in case. Highly doubt we'll need it but I got $0.50 off each gallon and I can use it to fill up the cars.

Yep, my work will still tell everyone to come in if they can. If not, use a PTO day.
My girl’s office said a similar thing. If Richardson ISD schools are closed, their office is closed. If RISD is open, everyone must come into the office and if you don’t feel safe based upon the road conditions around where you live, you must use a PTO day. They already work from home two days a week and I don’t know why they don’t let the people work from home on Monday. I don’t understand their logic at all.
Someone find Ted Cruz and ask him if he feels like going to Mexico. He seems to be a good indicator of the cold event.
Haha. 2021 we had Cancun Cruz. This year we have California Cruz.

So this winter weather event is a little different for my subdivision. This time a few of us guys got together and wanted to try brining the bad trouble areas. It was pretty impressive how within 8 hours we made a plan, acquired equipment, and had a proof of concept test. It is amazing what can be done when you take neighborhood politics out of the equation.

I was nominated to tow the trailer w/ a 100 gal tank because I had the only full size 4x4 in the group. The 4Runner is enjoying this weather. The brine rig is a 100 gallon tank on a Harbor Fraught trailer with a decent sized pump. We configured it for recirculation and spray valves so we could balance and mix (that was the plan). I ran the pump off my zero turn battery; so I had ~40 mins of good pressure.

We targeted TxDOT brine standards for mix and spread. The water was not pure so we did not get to 4.4 lbs salt per gallon; we only got to 3 lbs salt per gallon (still within the margin). We were using pool salt so it mixed really well. Overall the results so far have been positive considering I sprayed it at 9p last night on wet roads. The areas I double passed are really good today.

I drove around a little about an hour ago. Roads were not bad, especially with the new tires.

nice setup, now just make sure you guys wash the undercarriage once temps go back up. That brine wreaks havoc on metal surfaces.

Yeah, putting together the maintenance checklist for it to include a full wash down, frame flush, and clean water run thru the lines.

I know someone in here is paying attention. What's the deal with this Pretti guy? Was he an innocent that was executed by federal agents or was he a d-tard doing the wrong thing in the wrong place?

If you dont want to get hit by a train, dont play on train tracks.
I have not looked too much into this, but I know how to not get shot by police.

My opinion is that it was a bad shoot. I can't find a video of him reaching for the weapon & having one shouldn't be a death sentence, no matter how stupid your views and decisions are

True, but the videos that I've seen do not make him appear to be a threat. He was pinned down by several agents. He probably should have been handcuffed and removed from the area. Facts seem to be hard to find on this one other than the two videos. Lots of hate from the liberal side.

In general, it seems like the liberal side makes a mountain out of a molehill and it turns out that the "innocent and good citizen" was actually doing something stupid and posed a real threat (like pointing a car at an agent and stepping on the gas). This one seems like it was very poorly handled. I'm curious what additional facts will come out.

There have been a few reports that the guy deleted his social media and said good bye to a few people. Then he decided to carry his pistol with spare magazines to a protest against federal agents where he was killed. It would appear there was the possibilty he got the result he was hoping for; but maybe not the way he had imagined the blaze of glory to look.

If that was not a gun; that was defintently a hand motion that could convince a person he had a weapon.
