Well I got diagnosed with pneumonia at the doctor's today. I got a doctor's note to stay home for the rest of the week to rest and a bunch of power steroids and antibiotics.

My wife said to consider this my "COVID vacation" since I never got to enjoy the two weeks of paid COVID leave like the rest of my coworkers (I've never tested positive for COVID).

We were Galvenstink island last week for a couple days, the air quality everywhere around there and Texas City & Lamarqe just sucked. I was getting sick from the air, traffic and too many humans.

Well my USPS package is back in Austin. I’m not there so I was not worried. But just love their inefficiency. Been a long week so far. Last Wednesday we left Austin for Orlando. Kid had a 4 day tournament that started on Thursday. They did good, lost a star player in game 8 and lost that one. Was 7-0. After that they kinda went downhill. Just fucked the lineup. They still ended up 13 out of 78. 8-3 record. Tournament was huge. Over 1000 clubs. Each brought at least one team. Ages 12-14 and then age 18. The room she played in had 153 courts and was almost a million sq ft. Tournament ended on Sunday. Monday we got on a boat. Got a nice suite. It ends on Friday and then we go to universal studios before we head back to Texas.

One month until Colorado. Temps are expected to be 75 in the day and 50 at night. Looked at the weather there last night. It was 82 here at 10pm, it was 46 there. Wish we could stay up there longer but the wife will hopefully be starting a new job the week after (she has a ride-along this coming Tuesday to make sure it’s a good fit, and then the decision will be made) so we’re driving back on a Saturday instead of staying until Monday like originally planned. Luckily the manager at the new job is cool and was more than willing to let her push her start date a week so we didn’t have to cancel the vacation. She’ll finish out her two weeks at her current job, take a week off for vacation and then start the new gig when we get back. It’s a good pay raise and better benefits but she’s going to be driving to downtown Dallas every day. But she said she’d rather be miserable in an hour and a half of traffic everyday than be miserable for 8-10 hours of work everyday like she is now.

Spent the day at Universal Studios. That place is pretty damn cool. But after 7 hours in the sun, heat and humidity I was done. Oh and it did rain on us as well. Heading home in the morning.

Still holding on and trying to recover? I had walking pneumonia one time in the Marine Corps and it took me months to get over it. Sadly there was no bed rest for a sickness where I could still walk.

Spent the day at Universal Studios. That place is pretty damn cool. But after 7 hours in the sun, heat and humidity I was done. Oh and it did rain on us as well. Heading home in the morning.

Getting home was easy peasy.. although the bag check line was scary long.. like down the concourse, loop back around and then come back again long. But it still only took about 25 minutes to get them checked in. Direct flight home, even arrived early. So thankfully it was uneventful. We head back out next Sunday to visit my family for my nieces baptism, we are the godparents. I am glad she picked us, but I hate Illinois. I would gladly stay home if she wants to do it over a Zoom call.

Yeah I'm back at work today unfortunately. Time was just starting to slow down for me at the house yesterday.
And I was at 95% oxygen so I couldn't walk long distances or use stairs without being completely out of breath or feeling dizzy.

I'm on a bunch of pills so I feel better but still have that annoying little cough.

So far, I have put the boots to da abuse, they are holding up quite well. On really hot days, I do have to change out socks, so I don't think they breathe as easy as some of my prior boots.
