Well I just made a few.. I definitely need to practice.. but the welds are strong. I welded a 3/8's plate to a 2 x .120 wall square and its ugly.. but its strong. :) Now to work on the pretty part.

I'm in the same boat. Welded my diff armor on last night, the welds look a little depressing, but definatlly strong & way better than the pics Randy posted.

Found this truck this morning, if anybody is interested let me know and I can get more details. What I know of it, '86 model, 22RE, 5 spd, cranked right up, 425,00 miles.
Here are a few pics:

That is a solid axle truck, it has to be an 84 or 85 model, yes it is 4x4.

Corrected, yes its an 84 model, solid axle. I'll ask the guy this evening and try to get a # to the owner.

84 with EFI; must have been retro-fitted. Great find though!

Just found out he wants 3,000 for it, I said he was out of his freakin mind. He said it has the factory Toyota camper, special edition truck and was a collector item, my brother said the only thing it was collecting was rust. Sorry for mistaking it for a good deal. I can still get a contact # for it this evening if anybody is interested.

I think it could get 1500-2000 simply for the fact that it is a solid axle with EFI and those are rare, but that would be with no rust and much lower miles.

I'm thinking it might not have that many miles because I'm pretty sure they didn't have EFI in 84, late 85-86 was the start of that I believe.

Yeah no shit, 3k is way too much for 400k on the engine even if it is a solid axel.
