What's in your tool box?

In my DD I keep jumper cables and a cheap tow strap. My work tool bag has quite a few tools, sockets, and other tools. My 4Runner has a socket set, 2lb hammer, tow strap, 2 folding chairs, basic screwdrivers, and a snake hook stick. The 1911 is more of a "if I have my pants on it is close by" item.
As for the cordless impact, my buddy works at an auto shop and he swears by the Snap-On cordless impact wrench. We have used it and it is a pretty sweet piece of gear. I have one on my "want list".

That is how I put together my motorcycle's tool bag. Whenever I fix anything minor/kinda common on it I pick up the tools and they go into the saddlebag. I have yet to be stranded for something I could of fixed myself. Of course, since I started carrying tools I haven't broken down yet either. ... knock on wood ...
I'm putting together my 4Runner's tool kit the same way.

These lists are just making mine longer
One habit my Dad taught me was to hang onto the belts when I change the old ones out. When I change the belts out I always put the old ones that are in good shape behind the back seat. This way I always have a spare belt with me. For my 4Runner I make sure and keep a good alt/water pump belt on with me at all times.

Yeah I toss one in when I go wheeling too, also have the shovel, axe, hatchet and machete.
Hell you can use a piece of split wood for a tire chalk.

Belts and an alternator wouldn't be a half bad thing to add to my spare parts list. I also need to put a tarp in there
I've been tossing in a spare boat seat cushion in the back of the 4R also. It makes for a really soft spot to take a knee or sit when working beside the 4R. As for packing a spare alternator... I don't know about that,

Hey now, I don't carry a spare t-case yet. Funny I haven't broken anything I carry spare parts for once I started carrying the parts.
You need a spare t-case? I got one. I'll bet you could change out the input shaft on the trail

Metric socket, crowbar, screwdrivers, hammer, pliers, etc. Just the basic stuff for a 'good enough' fix. All I have is a small handheld toolbox that fits behind my drivers seat in my access cab. Working on one for the bed to start expanding though. Also piled back there is a snatch strap, come-a-long, and on wheeling trips I grab my Hi-Lift out of the storage unit.
