I would drain shit.. save yourself troubleshooting issues that are 3 year old gas related. Drain tank, blow out lines.. replace fuel filter.. done.

I would spend the extra dollars and use seafoam instead of Marvel, same product aka seafoam I used on $30 million Helicopters.

No Fuel Filter but you could add one. :)

I guess that explains why I have never replaced one on this thing. :)

I just thought I was lazy.

I am going to drop the tank and purge the lines. No way I'm going to risk damaging the new engine with crap gas. Thinking of buying a new fuel pump vs using what Ant got from a friend used for $50. I still need to send the guy the money for it, but I may just try to go with new. Hate to do all this work to put a used pump in when I have no idea what kind of shape it is in.

I wasn't trying to save cash - just want it done right and my hands on knowledge is very limited. Based on what you are saying I am compelled to do some more research before I add anything to the tank. The fuel additive is being added to clean out the lines and engine. Tank itself had better be spotless after I drop it and clean it out. Not sure an additive is even needed with all the detergents in today's gas.?.

I think Exxon Gas has some of the best detergents out there, but you can't go wrong using seafoam in addition to help clean and break up any other deposits.

The only deposits that motor has is a core deposit! Lol

wait...I can return ol crusty for money back? lol

Low miles I guess...I haven't been keeping up with KardashianOswego motor implant.

bigger isn't always better...wait...wut

Gotcha, Maybe I should try and find the spare one that Boyd wants to put in hit tank, I know it's hanging around my shop somewhere and put some eyes on what
the "filter" actually is.

It's a "lifetime" filter integrated into the pump. My pumps fine. Sending unit is fubar, but integrated. Stupied multitasking pumps

I need a new pump/sending unit as well. My fuel gauge is off by a bit... like the low fuel light may or may not come on. When you then go put gas in the truck it might take 20 gallons.... with now low fuel light and the gauge still above E.

Mines been stuck on "E" with the warning light on for years. I just decided to track millage and would fill up every 200. Don't really need a new one but already got to disconnect the lines and purge them + the tank + install gas tank skid so while I'm down there might as well swap it out. Knowing how much gas you have is important sometimes lol

The more I think about your situation, you may want to use some solvent an submerge your pump in a bucket and power it up. Let it recycle for a while and the flush with gas if you are willing to just take all the neccessarily precautions not to pull a Richard Pryor! I'd say as long as it seems to to run quiet and you get to flush the filter canister thing built in to the assembly, you should be fine.

I'd replace it. Great time to do it. Helps if you are wheeling also where it's harder to calculate or guess how much fuel you've used

New Fuel pump on order - still gotta figure out how to get the clips off. Either make a tool or buy one.
Motor has new conventional oil + a qt of Mystery oil. Put some Mystery oil in each cylinder then hand cranked it over a few times to lube it up. Will do so again before firing it up, but not putting more in the cylinders. New spark plugs also installed.
Front shocks, UCA's & LCA's due to be delivered to my work Friday. Hopefully the rain gives up and I can work on it this weekend. Still gotta drop the tank, purge the lines, and grab a battery then I hope she's ready to fire up.

ETA pushed back due to what I can only guess was handcrafting the front suspension lol ~ Should of ordered it from DSMS in hindsight ~ Always listen to your gut.

Sadly - Nothing to update. Thousands of $$ in parts sitting waiting for a weekend that's not rainy and I don't have stuff scheduled to do. New joke is we got sunburn in the beginning and will get frost burn finishing it up. Ive only got a few more months left until my new new extended frame warranty is up so I'd like to get that taken care of so now at least I have some motivation although the frame warranty running out didn't motivate me last time lol Maybe I should just talk to Ant and get it towed down to his crib. I can take a few days - a week off work and finish it up down there.
