Screw Waco and that county. I hope the state digs thru the county and sends them to prison.

He shoulda been using inmates instead like they use to do over here in Madison county where I live. I use to see them all the time growing up in their strippy pajamas digging ditches and all kinds of other manual labor bs while a few cops sat on horses with a shotgun pointed at them watched.

That county and sheriff's dept has a long history of sketchy and wrong behavior. I am just happy to see this coming to state level investigations.

Of all the things I splurge on, the one that’s always bothered me the most is having to pay payments on our cell phones. I know you can buy them outright but phones are too damn expensive and shelling out $25-30 a month makes it suck a little less (though not much less) than dropping $900-1100 to buy it outright. It’s not helped by the fact that most phone companies won’t let you take advantage of any specials if you’re not a new customer. Last night I was poking around on ATTs website and found out if we paid our current phones off (~$500) they would give us enough for them on trade to almost get two new phones for free. So I paid them off and pre-ordered my wife an iPhone 16 Pro Max that should be here next month sometime when they release and I ordered me a Pixel 9 Pro XL. Mine was completely free and hers is $10 a month. So we’re saving $60 a month off our current bill and getting new phones. I told her after the first of the year we’d pay off the remaining balance of her phone and then ditch ATT for Cricket more than likely. No reason to keep paying over $200 a month for two phones.

You probably extended your contract for another 2 years by accepting the 2 new phones, lol, all that fine print that everyone skips through.

I usually buy new phones out right that have been out a year or 2, I usually buy them on black Friday and/or Amazon prime day deals etc for less than half of the original cost. And we been on cricket for about 6 years now. 4 smart phones for $100 a month. No phone tethering, only like 3g of high speed data, but its unlimited talk, text, data(reduced speeds). I've been happy with cricket, the times you need the heavy data usage, your usually around a wifi area anyways.

We were on Verizon (and had no issues) but it was $$$$. So we switched to Visible by Verizon. Same towers, less than 1/2 the price. We did buy two new phones for the wife and I. Kid got my old one (which was like 15 months old). But it did suck buying the phones at the prices they charge.

We have T-Mobile Magenta plan for $140 a month. This is a business expense for us as my wife is on call 24/7 for patients. We got my mom on the plan for free, got three free phones (whatever phone you wanted), Apple TV, Netflix and a bunch of other add-on's (you get coupons for .20 off gas at exxon or shell stations IIRC) and it's unlimited talk, text, data & tethering. I've been nothing but impressed with the service so far.

We switched over from Verizon as their cell service was going to shit, it was getting crazy expensive and they offered like a $100 off a new phone at the time.

I also worked on a $4 million T-Mobile project at my work for four years, so all of my buildings are wired with T-Mobile hubs and it provides service to the rest of the medical center. I worked with a high level manager at T-Mobile (he's since retired sadly, he's a good dude who got shit done) who had been in the cell phone business since it started so I got a unique perspective into the industry. He told me that AT&T is a shit show at the upper management level (high employee turnover, no one there knows what's going on since they haven't been there that long) and Verizon is getting that way as well. We actually had Verizon on board to add on to the buildings (the infrastructure is all in place for them, they just need to install their equipment) and they pulled out at the last minute.

Our neighbor has t-mobile and has been very happy and it was pretty inexpensive. I remember 15-20 years ago t-mobile was shit. How times have changed.

Yeah my wife had T-Mobile (when we first starting dating) and everytime she went into her school building, she'd lose service. I got tired of not being able to talk to her for most of the day so I put her on my Verizon plan because they had service everywhere at that time.

Your phone payment is your contract now. As long as it’s paid off you can leave at no charge. There’s no contract other than the phone financing shit. I haven’t had an issue leaving either time I switched from ATT. Just had to pay the phone off.

I’m kind of locked to ATT (or Cricket or someone else that uses ATT towers) due to my work. It’s about the only service that gets solid service here and most of our boosters in our shops/offices only work with ATT because that’s what company cell phones use. The few mo the I had T-Mobile several years ago I never had service at work.

I'm on T-mobile now that they bought out Sprint. I'm paying out over $300 a month for 5 unlimited plans. Looking to possibly switch to Cricket.

Keep in mind if you switch to Cricket, when any of the people switch back off of Cricket in the future, they’ll have to change their number. I spent almost a week talking to everybody I could from both Cricket and ATT when I went from Cricket to my wife’s ATT plan and no one could get around me having to get a new number.

I'm using a T mobile gateway router for my internet, free router, $65 month/unlimited. Speeds vary from 30 to 100 though.

This was my biggest issue for the longest time. My phone number was my job. Now I am just spoiled and like having the number I have had for almost 20 years now. I do get 25% off services from ATT thru work though.

Yeah I had had my number for like 18 years when I got rid of it. Fortunately it was around the same time we bought our new house so I was able to set up all the new accounts and everything with the new number. There wasn’t too much having to go back and change my number on existing accounts.

I would go into a store and see what deal they can make you. Just complain long enough and they'll put you on a different plan (from the people I saw doing it while we were getting our phones in the store lol)
