Just noticed his floor mat. Kid died last month, but he was definitely strange.

Same as Toyota 4.7 I believe
Possible. I know my old bus washer had a sitty Lexus with the same setup. His went out and the repair estimates were more then he paid for the car lol

Got some new Continental extreme contact DWS06 tires on my mom's X5. She had a framing nail in her tire and they were already close to replacement. They comped us one tire so she only had to pay for three tires. I went ahead and had them replace the batteries in the TPMS sensors as well.

I went with non-run flat tires this time and I can already tell the car rides smoother and is quieter on the road than with those Michelins she had before. She was also only getting about 35k miles out of a set of those Michelins as well.

Getting rid of the run flats on my mom’s BMW was the best thing to happen to that car other than the day she got rid of the POS.

Yeah for the additional cost of adding run-flats to the Continental tires, my mom could pay for 2 tow truck trips lol

Changed out the alternator, belt and battery on The Laundry Fairy's LX570.
Took over 6 hours, lots of parts, fan shroud, fan clucth, numerous hoses, powersteering pump had to be removed to get that sucker out. I need to remember to set the computer for the new agm battery tomorrow, put skids back on and all the engine covers.

6 hours to change an alternator?!?! Damn as a certain point I am okay paying a shop. But I do not have a lot of time at home at the moment.

There is a ton of fasteners to various hoses and wire looms. Limited space to access them. If I had to do it all over again, I could probably do it 3.5hours.
I didn't do any research prior to working on the LX, I didn't know the top bolt was hidden behind the powersteering pump.
If I had pulled the pump first, it would have allowed me to access the alternator a bit faster. Just on the alternator, there was 4 mounting bolts, 1 wire loom/hose bracket, the bolt for the hot lead and 1 electrical plug, lol.

The power steering pump was in there extremely tight(2 mounting bolts, pressure hose bolt, 1 hose clamp) I had to use like a 40in pry bar to get it out of location mounted on that side of the engine. I took a dial caliper and took measurements, had my son hand file the aluminum ears on the pump so it wouldn't be an issue to reinstall. After he removed .005 to .007 of an inch on both ears, it fit back into the block just snug enough to hold itself up there until I put mounting bolts back in.

Oh, one the lower alternator bolts was in there so tight, I couldn't budge the bolt with the break over bar. So I had a 20in 3/8th extension going through the wheel well and on the 3rd setting of my 1/2 fuel impact( up to 1600lbs of nut busting torque) the bolt broke loose, thank God it didn't break off/strip.

Rolled over 29k in the Kia on the way home from Colorado today so ordering the parts for the 30k service next weekend. Just the normal oil, rotation, filters, and wipers. Going to swap out front and rear differential fluid as well as front rotors and pads. DCT and transfer case fluid is due but I’ll probably just pay the dealership to do those when I take it in to get the sunroof looked at and get the fading window trim pieces replaced under warranty. It’s only about $250 to have them do it and it will save me any headache if there’s problems with it down the line.

Serviced the Front, Rear and Xfer case, easy peasy, even though there is 15million bolts on the front skids on the LX570. Greased all the drive shaft(s) zerks and gave the rubber boot seals on the CV joints an gear oil rub down.

So I finally out-sourced the work on the sammich maker's 2006 Tacoma. The valve cover gaskets were replaced and the transmission output shaft seal is getting replaced on Monday. They ordered the wrong part (which confirms they are not going to do the 4Runner's water pump & timing belt). I have been putting that work off for a while but the shop charged a whopping $300 for all the labor and parts.

Now I need to refresh the suspension and get an alignment done. Oddly the suspension is not a big deal; I can do that in a couple of hours. I will probably buy complete coils and shocks setups as the current setup has almost 300k miles.

Is it a 2wd? I’ve not heard too many issues with trans output seals going out in 2nd gens unless it was the slip yoke style of the 2wd
