I have heard it from many folks. But fuck it’s real. LOL
Made that mistake twice. Won't make it again. But I said that after the first time and I did make it again. They just look so good for the .2 seconds they're clean.

Well in a couple months its not my issue. I'm just getting it perfect and then its her deal to keep up.

Swapped out the light bar with some cheap lights. Took off the front part of the top. Took it for a spin. It has the Alpine stereo in it, it sounds good. But I ordered a new headunit that does more. Within a week I’ll install it.

Installed new headunit and front and rear cameras in the kids Jeep. Sounds good. Had her build the wiring harness using those weatherproof connectors with the solder in the center of them. She also was responsible to run the wires for the cameras. It’s been a good learning experience. I’m fucking tired though. LOL

So I've seen a few black JK's and several had this same issue, a bit of rust behind the grill on that cross piece. It's the only rusty thing near the grill. Anyhow, sanded it down, gave it a coat of Rust Reformer and then a coat of Rustoleum automotive enamel. Then installed some hood struts because I do not like prop rods. Next is electrical, just need to figure out where to put a fuse/relay panel. Thought I had a spot but I don't think its going to work.

It’s installed. I need to clean up under the hood and find a place to hard mount the disconnect switch. I had to rewire the control box, running the power wire out the side vs the back. Out the back was rubbing the grill.

Got the winch all wired up and tidied up compete with a cutoff switch. I installed a fuse block that will allow 6 overhead switches to control various things. Also got some led lighting mounted under the dash and front seats. For now it’s powered by the switch that is plugged into the cigarette lighter. Once the under hood fuse panel gets its overhead switches installed one of those will control it. Tomorrow I will work on running the harness into the cabin.

Didn't work on it at all today... went to the range instead.
