Not sure about other spindles but on my 2nd gen taco.... Been there, bent that. Just moves bend point. There is a Toyota sponsored team that got away with a lot of races where all they did was re-heat treat the spindles. My favorite gussets that has elimimnated my spindle issues - or I should say, stabilized my spindle issues, were these:
By 'stabilizing' - I am saying that I am not sure if the spindles were straight when they were installed. I do know they have not bent since this was installed. I would love to see someone with a inspection jig or CMM to confirm the original straightness was confirmed after welding.
The ones that look good, although I am not convinced they are as strong as the ones that are used on military applications (the ones above) that would make even my use look like a gardener or mall crawler's application.
