What have you done to your ride lately?

New front wheel bearings, c clips, and axle nuts got here today from rock auto, they are for the accord. It's up to 198k now on the original front bearings! They are starting to howl a bit so figured I'd change them next time I have a free weekend off before they leave me stranded

Not the 4 wheel ride, but my old 2 wheel ride. My mtn bike has been hanging on the wall for a good 10 years or more. I decided I wanted to get back on it... it will probably kill me. Anyhow, decided to update a few items... some because it needed it and some because I wanted to. :) Replaced the Kenda Stick-E Blue Groove and Nevegal tires (they are pretty hard... not really a stick-e any more) with some Panaracer Smoke and Dart 2.1's. BTW, 26" mtn bike tires are not that easy to come by these days. Replaced my Easton EC70 carbon fiber post with a Thompson Masterpiece post (aluminum), replaced the seat post clamp with a Thompson one, replaced Selle seat with another Selle seat (handmade in Italy!), replaced Easton carbon bars with new RaceFace Next carbon bars, just up'd the diameter, replaced the stem with Thompson Elite X4 stem. Replaced 2 of the 3 chainrings, middle chainring was like a girl from Mississippi, missing teeth. New chain, although it might be a bit too light duty, its got hollow pins and the links are hollow as well. We shall see how long it lasts. I "tried" to rebuild the rear shock so that will now need to be rebuilt by a professional. lol I fucked with the control valve and these little tiny fuckign ball bearing shot out never to be seen again. I bought some new ones but I don't think its rebuilt the correct way.. will not hold air. Anyhow, the front fork was left alone after working on rear.. it will also need to be rebuilt or at least looked at. Front brake caliper was sticking badly, so I tore into it. I just need to bleed it. Worse case it gets fixed when I take the thing in for a tune-up. And then I went full retard and replaced every nut and bolt that I could with one made out of titanium... to include my valve stem caps. I also removed all the decals and replaced them with new ones. Removed decals off the wheels as well.

After looking at Fox's website and finding out the average cost of a shock rebuild was close to $200 I decided to try again. And I think I nailed it. It works! (so far). I had to bleed the front brake twice, second time was mainly using vacuum and pulling any air bubbles I could out of it. But it works great. I dialed in the rear derailleur pretty nice. Front needs some work... it was going good and then it wasn't. It was hot and humid today so working on it was testing my patience. At that point I said fuck it, lets take it for a ride. Topped off the tires and checked the pressures in the front fork and rear shock and rode it about a mile. Had to tweak a few things afterwards, handlebars needed to be rotated a few degrees, go from being swept back to upwards a bit. Also the stem was not directly in line with the front tire. All easy shit. But yeah, it rode great, my ass wasn't hurting as I expected (granted it was less than a mile). But I'm happy.

Time for a mini-split in the garage. I'm sweating my fuckin' balls off in here!

All you need for the minisplit is a couple of holes drilled through the brick for the electrical & refrigeration lines... (and 220V power ran to the unit outside lol)

Some maintenance today on the Toyotas. I did oil changes, changed filters, greased zerks and blah blah blah. Sammich maker wiped down the interiors and vacuumed. I also had to replace the throttle position sensor on the 4Runner.

Had to get the window replaced thanks to some low life sack of shit. On vacation, and this was not how we wanted to end the trip. Apparently they hit 4 cars at the hotel, and several others in the area. Didn't actually get in. Had my Oakleys on the visor and $100 in gift cards in the glove box. Nothing was touched.
Cops took prints off the window, and the hotel has video of the car. Hopefully they are caught.
Thankfully the dealer had glass in stock since it was ordered for another customer, they called him and agreed to sell it to me, while he waits for it to be ordered again.

Did some work on the old Ferd fteenthousand.

The pinion seal was leaking, turned out the pinion nut was pretty loose, I replaced the seal and tightened the pinion nut down, hopefully that's enough to seal it up if not I fear it's probably due for a rebuild. The pinion bearings have some minor pitting and the flange has a small groove from the seal but I believe this is the original gearset with 260k on it so I'm going to run it for now and hope for the best

Damn oil pan dipstick started leaking even though I sealed it up to OEM specifications when I pulled the motor a few years ago. Bought this kit and we'll see if it works. 73Dipstick

I believe the PTO cover had a minor leak/seep. I pulled the cover, removed the old paper gasket and resealed with permatex and loctited the cover bolts. Waiting for that to cure so I can refill the trans with fluid. Sucks working on this truck I smell like diesel fluid for a week afterwards lol
