Replaced the engine belts today; but also noticed the driver side CV boots are about to shit the bed. So up next month will be a CV axle and rear u-joint replacement day. At least I have a spare driveshaft end so I can do all the u-joint work in advance.

Really wanting to move the rear shocks outboard.

Opinions?

New tires going on later this week. Sorry @Silverback - dropping an inch from the 285s. I am tired of the over sized spare tire issue and the hit to mpg is enough to bother me driving/ camping more than rock crawling.

One perk of getting the tires now is a $75 rebate from Cooper for the set.

Overall I like the functional 285 size but the issue with the spare rubbing the traction bar is a PITA. So I have the spare aired down to 10 psi with a ratchet strap pulling it to the rear to get almost 3/4" of clearance. Dropping the size will fix that issue and give me a little MPG back.

So these have been ordered. Time to get those King shocks away from the rear sway bar to stop random rubbing. That is a big issue I have oversized shocks under the 3rd gen.

These finally arrived today. Of course I am in Philadelphia this week.

The 4Runner is doing some testing hauling this week helping a friend move across Texas. We loaded this up in Greenville Friday afternoon. I drove it home south of Ft Worth and will take it the rest of the way to Alpine tomorrow morning. The 4R has pulled it nicely at 65~70 mph so far. I am expecting to have to slow down to 55 or 60 mph in the elevation areas near Alpine.

That safe weighs a lot more than I expected. The yellow lid tubs have blockings and plates for the different presses, lathe, mills, and jigs in the shop. We estimated the trailer has 2,000 to 2,500 lbs loaded on it. The rear tires on the 4Runner had 35 psi in them on the way home last night. I added 5 psi to bring them up to 40 psi today.

The back seats are laid down so it is nothing but firearms from the back of the front seats to the rear hatch. I even rolled down the windows so I could get more into the cabin without blocking the windows.

Belts are in good shape but the supercharger tensioner pulley is not looking good. Front brake pads arrived last night so that will get one this weekend. I need to double check the valve cover gaskets; the motor is leaking out those gaskets a little more than I thought.

Prep list before an end of year camping trip to BBRSP -

1) Replace driver CV Axle
2) Fluid change diffs & transfer case
3) Rear Shock relocation to outside frame
4) Front brake pads
5) Rear axle seals?
6) ... ?

Well both rear axle seals are hopefully resolved. Not the seals actually; but scratches on the axle shaft letting gear oil get by.

Also while cleaning up the oil mess I noticed the rim took some abuse. I am not sure when this happened.
