Shipping was quick! I will probably install the exhaust on Friday afternoon. I want to soak the bolts in penetrating fluid for a day first. This Magnaflow exhaust feels beefy though. I am curious how the 4Runner will sound and run with a good exhaust on it.

I thought I was done working on the 4Runner for a while. The exhaust has started rattling again so it is time to properly replace it. I wanted to do a stainless exhaust last time but it was out of budget; maybe this time I can do it and not think about it again. I ordered the Magnaflow Stainless Overlander exhaust with tunable J pipe.

I looked at that exhaust a while back when it first came out. For the price, I decided that I'd go with the Toyota TRD stainless steel exhaust.

In the end, I did neither.

I looked up the TRD exhaust again. It was $350 when I was previously looking. It's up to around $750 now. Maybe I should've gone with it when I was considering....that's definitely not happening now.

So the 4Runner is showing it's 415k miles on the hood. I am debating between getting the hood repainted and then putting a 3M clear cover on the leading edge or putting a light bed liner coat on the first part of the hood. The small body parts under the headlights are also showing age so they would be given the same treatment either way. I have also seen turn signals put in those panels as well so it may be a multi phase project.

Unless it’s a trail rig and then bedliner is perfect

Paint and film. I can't stand bed liner for anything besides a truck bed.

Will see if I can get it painted when I am on a work trip this spring.

Also saving this link for purchase later. The Rokman trailing arms I have on the 4runner need new bushings and the company went out of business.
