I used to live in Alamogordo, been to Carlsbad 4 or 5 times. Did the hike down a few times and the elevator down the other times. Hike down was very cool!
7 miles in 4 hours of walking around DC with the sammich maker.

So my wife and daughter flew out Thursday for a volleyball tournament in Spokane WA, she’s on a local clubs national team. Doing well this year. They had a tournament in Dallas two weeks ago that they won and another in San Antonio the prior week they got 3rd. 42-52 teams in each tournament. Well she had three games yesterday, its a 3 day tournament.. nationals qualifier. They started out going 2-0 yesterday, winning both games in 2 sets each. Looked dominating. Anyhow, game 3 she collided with a team mate and it dislocated her knee.. badly. She spent 4-5 hours in the ER, got back to the hotel at almost midnight. She is now in a big ass brace and in a wheelchair or on crutches. Out a minimum of 3 weeks.. we really won't know until we get her into see an ortho and get an MRI. But that won't be until next week, luckily we have a couple connections to get in sooner than later. Her first words were “How long am I out for?” It really sucks. She has a tournament in Reno at the end of April. Hopefully she is back by then. She is the starting setter, and a setter touches the ball every play... its their job to setup the kills and get points. Upside is that she was able to put some pressure on it today without pain. I am optimistic she will be back in 2 weeks... maybe 3. You want to know what a trip for 2 to Spokane with a hotel and rental costs? Its about the same as a winch and its install on a new Bison. LOL

She’s out of a wheel chair. Still on crutches. Has an ortho appointment on Wednesday. Won’t know anything for. Few more days but I am optimistic. My main concern is not re-injuring it. So I want a full diagnosis before we say it’s healed or not.

Ouch. Knee injuries are no fun. I broke mine I college. Now I have a cadaver tendon and a couple plastic anchors in the left knee. Hope she gets back to normal quick.
