She’s home now.. long ass flight. Had to last minute change everything so she could get a seat with legroom for the brace. One of the parents on her team is good friends with a well respected orthopedic specialist in town, they reached out to him. He spoke to the wife over the weekend said he would get her in on Wednesday. So I called today and sure enough, he said he would get her in on Wednesday morning. So that is cool. Fingers crossed it’s not that serious. I am thinking positive. She has been a super resilient kid, did many years of school not missing a single day due to illness.
Went to the ortho today, he took x-rays first. There is a small... very small piece of cartilage that appears to have chipped off from the incident. He said lets move forward with PT first. If the knee starts acting up, locking in place for a second, then they will do an MRI and see if surgery is needed to remove that piece. But honestly, it was barely seen in the X-ray, like a sliver chipped away. But he did drain fluid off the knee. That was crazy, never seen it done. About made me pass out.

But he said 3-6 weeks recovery at this point. Anyhow, she is still in a brace, got her a cold therapy machine for the knee. I am still optimistic, her next tournament is in Houston I think... or maybe its Dallas again. Anyhow, she most likely won't play. But in 3 weeks they have a tournament in Reno, I hope she can play some of it. Not the entire thing... but at least play a portion of it.
