Somehow my wife was completely onboard with me getting a kayak for fishing. And my SIL was on board with my BIL getting one. So I picked this up today and my BIL has (a much nicer) one on order as well. Need to order a few things to get it ready to go but should be fishing in the next few weeks.

Had the opportunity to hunt at RecordBuck Ranch this past weekend. Somehow I got picked to take the Axis buck tag and I harvested it within 20 mins with the guide. Incredible experience and an amazing piece of property there.

The guides had some sweet custom built rigs out there. The tailgates drop down and you can load animals up onto them.

Yeah it was an incredible piece of property and that cool front that blew in made it an enjoyable weekend to be outdoors. Normally the place is a desert.

Yeah they were pretty sweet setups. Definitely gave me some ideas to update Jason's bronco at the ranch lol

Man I wish I had a picture of the bumper my dad built for our old Isuzu Trooper we had in Luckenbach. That thing was sweet. Similar conceot except it was the front bumper. Maybe he has a picture laying around somewhere from an old game camera.

Used a bunch of Academy gift cards I had been saving up to get a Garmin Striker Vivid 4cv for the kayak. Need to pick up the rest of the stuff to get it mounted but that's not a super high priority at the moment. Just wanted to get it bought before I wasted the gift cards on something else. Hoping to get out fishing next weekend or one day after work next week if the schedule cooperates.

Around the marina at Joe Pool is pretty good. Also hit the rip rapp as you enter the main lake to fish the bridge.

All my rods and everything are still in Cleburne at my sister's so I'll probably just swing by and grab them and head to the state park. It's a no wake lake so will give me some time to get used to the kayak before venturing into bigger areas.

Got the Scotty fish finder mount and transducer arm installed on the kayak. Need to get some bolts to actually mount the finder and need to come up with a way to mount the transducer to it. Didn't come with one that will work with my application. May be time to get the 3D printer going again. Ordered a Nocqua 10ah lithium battery setup to power it and it should be big enough to power lights as well when needed.
